Summary: | The research Pictograms as a didactic strategy to improve reading and writing in the third grade students of the School of Basic General Education "Miguel Riofrío" city of Loja, period 2017-2018., Whose general objective was to improve literacy through of the use of pictograms as a didactic strategy to generate significant learning in the third grade students of the Basic Education School "Miguel Riofrío", city of Loja, period 2017-2018. The population of the research was constituted by two teachers and 46 students of third grade "A" and "B" of the School of EGB "Miguel Riofrío"; the sample was of a nonprobabilistic type, since it was worked with a teacher and 21 third grade students parallel "B" of EGB. The type of study was descriptive that frames a mixed (quantitativequalitative) approach and a quasi-experimental design. The materials were: technological and desktop; the methods: scientific, observational, analytic-synthetic, deductive, hermeneutic and statistical; the techniques: observation guide, questionnaire and test; the procedures: theoretical-diagnostic foundation, design, application and evaluation of the alternative proposal. As a result, students have shortcomings in reading and writing since the teacher used the traditionalist method and did not use the pictograms as a teaching strategy to teach reading and writing in a creative and meaningful way. It is concluded that the use of pictograms as a didactic strategy if it helps to improve the reading and writing of the students. Finally it is recommended to the teacher of third grade "B" of EGB "Miguel Riofrío" to investigate the importance of implementing the pictograms in the classes of Language and Literature to develop in the students skills and abilities that contribute to improve learning the reading -writing. |
