Summary:The present research work called "FAMILY SUPPORT IN THE RECOVERY PROCESS OF THE ANONYMOUS ALCOHOLIC GROUP THE CANTÓN BALSAS PROVINCE OF EL ORO AND THE INTERVENTION OF THE SOCIAL WORKER", shows the main findings obtained in the field research, where fulfillment of the specific objectives that allowed the theoretical categories of analysis in relation to the study objective to be determined, such as determining the causes and consequences in the incidence of lack of family support in the recovery process, to establish a proposal for intervention from the focus of the social work whose purpose is framed to improve family adherence in the recovery of alcoholics anonymous. Regarding the methodology, the scientific method supported by the inductive, deductive, analytical and synthetic methods was used. Likewise, techniques such as observation, interview and survey were used; They were necessary for the compilation of information regarding family support in the recovery process of alcoholics and fulfill the objectives set out in the investigation. The main findings of the research show that the main causes of limited family support are due to violence, inability to fulfill functions and roles within the family environment, which does not allow maintaining good interpersonal relationships between individuals, in addition to This is added to the poor communication, the emotional detachment, which brings as a consequence the reintegration of the alcoholic to the repeated consumption of alcohol, transcendentally affecting the progress, development, development and reincorporation of the individual in society.
