| סיכום: | Mathematical logical thinking is considered a cognitive process that allows children to explore and understand concepts through connections with elements in their environment. This helps facilitate the comprehension of various mathematical concepts such as sequencing, classification, correspondence, counting, and comparison, promoting the development of critical logical thinking and problem-solving skills that children encounter daily. This research aimed to determine how unstructured teaching materials improve mathematical logical thinking in 4- to 5-year-old children at José Ingenieros Elementary School in Loja, during the 2023-2024 school year. In terms of methodology, a non-experimental design with a mixed approach was implemented. The scope of the study was descriptive, and the inductive-deductive and analytical-synthetic methods were used. The Early Mathematical Evaluation Test (TEMT) was used to assess the level of mathematical logical thinking development. The results showed that 35.71% of the children were at high and very high levels, 23.81% were at moderate levels, and 40.47% were at low and very low levels. Based on these results, a set of activities was designed using unstructured teaching materials, called "Playing with unstructured materials, I am learning mathematics," aimed at strengthening mathematical skills. This resource is seen as a creative and innovative tool that facilitates the understanding of mathematical concepts, allowing children to learn through exploration and manipulation of objects from their environment.
