Ամփոփում:In Loja, the digital publications Primer Reporte and Lo del Momento Loja are now regarded as important sources of information and communication. They mainly use photos and videos in their Facebook posts, processed using editing software. The main aim of this research study is to measure, examine, and assess the multimedia resources found in digital media between January and March 2024, as well as their impact on the breadth of the news. The research study employs a generic sampling strategy, gathering data through methods including monitoring matrices and news article interviews conducted on Facebook. Inductive-deductive and scientific methods were implemented to understand the global research environment and its objectives based on bibliographical knowledge related to multimedia resources currently used by digital media. The study population includes the city of Loja, located at 2060 m.a.s.l., with a population of 203,496 inhabitants according to the last census. The process used was a hybrid of quantitative and qualitative techniques with monitoring matrix (which included variables like the quantity of photos, videos, sections, and journalistic genre) and interviews with digital media managers (which concentrated on factors like relevance, treatment, and staff training in multimedia resources for digital media) being the two main quantitative tools applied. This approach allows for a broader and more complete view of the research. The results obtained showed that the digital media Lo del Momento Loja uses 44% of its publications mostly photos compared to videos, its predominant journalistic genre is news in photos and the most used topics are political. For its part, the digital media Primer Reporte uses photos in 38% of cases, its predominant journalistic genre is news in photos and the most used topics are those of society.
