| Резюме: | An important change produced in education because of the COVID-19 pandemic was to move from face-to-face classes to virtual classes, presenting many challenges and difficulties for teachers and students for almost two years. In Ecuador, teachers had to quickly learn how to use systems, equipment and technological platforms to teach their virtual classes; this scenario, unknown to most teachers, was perhaps one of the main triggers for the significant increase in stress levels, with substantial repercussions on the mental health of teachers; for this reason, the objective was to determine the effect of the confinement of the COVID-19 pandemic on stress levels, its main causes, and differences among kindergarten, basic education, and high school teachers of the UECIB ¨Aquiles Pérez Tamayo". To achieve this purpose, a quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional, and field research was proposed. To investigate quantitatively, the Teaching Stress Scale (ED- 6) was used as an instrument, which allows identifying stress levels in six dimensions; and structured interviews were conducted to determine the causes of teachers' stress levels. The results determined that in four of the six dimensions, teachers have high levels of anxiety, depression, demotivation, and poor coping. To reduce stress levels, it is proposed to implement several activities and dynamics useful for all teachers, with which it is intended to improve stress levels and job performance. |
