Description
Summary:The research work entitled "Determination of Ancylostoma Caninum in canines of the Muñoz Rubio citadel of the city of Babahoyo", aimed to determine the presence of this parasite in canines of the aforementioned citadel relating age and sex since if there is an infestation caused by this parasite it is of utmost importance to report it immediately, Ancylostoma caninum is a hematophagous and histophagous nematode known for its pathogenicity, its characteristic sign is the presence of anemia in infected patients, in order to know if the variables raised in this investigation such as age as well as sex are relevant when finding an infestation by this parasite and discover what were the clinical signs that were presented in the suspected canines, the technique used started from a coprological analysis from parasitic concentration by flotation, using as a reagent saturated sodium chloride solution, to know if there is the presence of Ancylostoma caninum eggs in fresh fecal samples. The present study consisted of analyzing a total of 100 animal fecal samples. The results were then evaluated using descriptive statistics and Pearson's chi-square test, and statistical analysis. The results were negative, with 100% of samples free of the parasite.
