| সংক্ষিপ্ত: | The cultivation of rice (Oryza sativa L.) is one of the fundamental pillars of global food security, being a primary source of calories for a large part of the population, as the global demand for food continues to increase, the on farmers and agricultural scientists to develop rice varieties more resistant to pressure. He set himself as a goal; determine the genetic improvement of rice cultivars (Oryza sativa L.) using native or wild species. Regarding the methodology, a basic research was initiated with a descriptive-bibliographic approach, where a methodology focused on the exhaustive literature review was used, adapted to the qualitative nature of the study. In reference to the results, the analysis of the relevance of native or wild species in the genetic improvement of rice cultivars reveals the critical importance of these varieties in the diversification and strengthening of genetic improvement programs. In conclusion, the importance of genetic improvement of rice crops is determined based on integral processes in wild species, as well as in situations adaptable to environmental conditions. In recommendation, strengthen the research and application of genetic improvement techniques that involve the integration of genes from native or wild species in rice cultivars, this strategy can contribute significantly to obtaining more resistant and adaptable varieties, thus improving the sustainability of rice production |
