Inclusión de harina de alfalfa (Medicago Sativa) en la dieta de cerdos en la etapa de crecimiento y engorde

Gaia:The effect of including alfalfa flour (Alfarina) was evaluated. Treatments were carried out to analyze the change in their growth and fattening. Each treatment corresponded to a weight phase and an inclusion level (15, 20 and 25%). In the growth test, 12 animals were used, and the progressive inclusion of alfalfa flour was evaluated from the growth stage, fattening to finishing. The treatments in the four experiments were: control base diet (T0) formulated based on corn and soybean paste, bran, palm oil, base diet with alfalfa (T1) formulated based on corn and soybean paste, bran, oil palm and 15% alfarina, base diet with alfalfa (T2) formulated based on corn and soybean paste, bran, palm oil and 20% alfarina, basic diet with alfalfa (T3) formulated based on corn and paste of soy, bran, palm oil and 25% alfarina. This research was carried out in 6 weeks, where the weight gain of each treatment subject was evaluated, it was reflected that the individuals obtained similar weights, however it was T2 (20% inclusion of alfalfa flour) that obtained a notable difference in the weight gain compared to the other treatments, having a final weight of 163,27 kg with a feed conversion of 1,64. And T1 being the treatment with the lowest gain with a final weight of 140.51 kg with a feed conversion of 1.94. A completely randomized design was used, all the variables to be evaluated were recorded week by week for 6 weeks, since this research focuses on the use of alfarina, which is a nutrient of protein origin, for the growth and fattening stages in pigs. ; For the management of the trial, the pigs were fed one to two times a day and had the availability to drink water freely.
