| Sumari: | Studies conducted to determine the importance of organic matter have identified reliable and sensitive indicators that allow estimating the current state and trends in soil quality. Identifying discriminating edaphic properties and incorporating them into evaluation and diagnostic methods is a priority to establish management strategies. Physical, chemical and biological indicators do not independently determine soil quality, most studies agree that soil organic matter (MOS) is the main indicator and undoubtedly the one that has a more significant influence on soil quality and Your productivity Under these conditions the influence of MO is significant, mainly on physical properties linked to water dynamics. Therefore, it is necessary to recognize the fragility of the soils of the region and the important changes that normally take place due to management influence. During the last years, in the world, the studies that try to interpret the quantitative and qualitative changes in the MO influenced by different management practices have intensified. As well as the consequences of changes in the MO on other physical, chemical and biological properties. The frequent use of organic matter allows to solve the problems of soil fertility, improve the capacity of water retention and air circulation, favor the development and invigoration of plants; It increases the ability to naturally control insects, mites, nematodes as pathogens. Whatever the source to be used, its application must respond to a previous analysis of the soil (nutrients, C/N ratio and microorganisms) and can be applied according to its richness up to twice the requirement in terms of pure mineral elements, since its assimilation and subsequent absorption is quite slow |
