Summary:The prevalence of ametropia is a significant problem both worldwide and in Ecuador, these pathologies significantly affect the visual quality of people. The lack of knowledge about what good vision means is an overlooked problem, especially among university students. Therefore, this research will focus on identifying the most common ametropias that affect visual quality in students of Nutrition and Dietetics at the Technical University of Babahoyo October 2024 - April 2025. For the development of this study a Descriptive, Prospective and Transversal Research was applied, combined with an observational-descriptive approach. The population of this study is made up of 519 students of the Nutrition and Dietetics career of the Technical University of Babahoyo, and based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria, the sample was established by 83 students. Regarding the identification of the most common ametropias, it can be mentioned that after the respective analysis of the results it can be indicated that Astigmatism and Myopia are the most common ametropias that affect the visual quality in the students of the Nutrition and Dietetics career.
