Achoimre:This clinical case was developed with the purpose of describing acute renal failure, which mainly affects people with underlying diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular pathologies or obesity. The Nursing Care Process was applied to a 60-year-old patient who presented oliguria, dysuria, hyperthermia 38.2ºC, edema in the lower limbs, pain in the lumbar region, vertigo and asthenia. Vital signs were monitored, where blood pressure was 140/89 mmHg. The patient's medical history confirmed a diagnosis of hypertension approximately 2 years ago. The interview confirmed that the patient had poor medication control. After performing a cephalocaudal assessment, Marjory Gordon's altered functional patterns were identified, which were immediately treated by the nursing staff based on the nursing diagnosis (NANDA), classification of outcomes (NOC) and classification of nursing interventions (NIC). The patient remains hospitalized in the internal medicine area for further monitoring and follow-up, and under the direct care of the nursing staff.
