Summary:The cultivation of cocoa is a tropical climate plant that can be grown from seeds or by vegetative part, being of great importance for the agricultural sector of the country. 70% of the production is considered as fine and aroma cocoa, with denomination flavor up. The main problem of the cocoa chain is the low level of productivity of the cocoa plantations of the National genotype. They are the main collectors and their product goes to the external market subject to compliance with quality standards that they demand and agree with their customers. Cocoa like every plant is subject to the action of pests and diseases that affect the development and productivity of trees. The need to maintain the balance between nutrients requires that applications of P and K be made as the application of N increases. In poor soils, particularly from sites where old batches of cocoa have been removed, nutrition management of the crop is important to achieve adequate yields. The yield and production of the cocoa crop is influenced by each of the cultural tasks, being one of the negative factors in its development. Cocoa cultivation can show symptoms due to the effects of pests and diseases, nutrient deficiency and water stress. Agronomic management is essential to maintain optimum performance and cocoa production. For the establishment of a cocoa crop, soil preparation must be carried out. The use of the soil before the sowing of cocoa makes the work to be done in the preparation of the land different, for the successful installation of a cocoa exploration. On land where it is going to be sown for the first time it is necessary to brush, align, burn. At present, the Mr. July farm makes the cob collection and then it is sold in the collection centers and sold to obtain a derivative from cocoa. The collection of the fruits is done manually by means of a curved knife attached to a stick that allows the operator to collect the fruits of the upper branches.
