总结: | Urinary tract infection is an obstetric risk factor that is associated with maternal and fetal complications with high rates of morbidity and mortality, especially in women with limited economic resources in developing countries, becoming an important public health problem. This retrospective - quantitative research was carried out in order to determine the maternal and fetal complications associated with urinary tract infections, at the Martin Icaza - Babahoyo General Hospital, from May 2017 to April. 2018. The analysis of the statistical data showed that the percentage of complications associated with UTI in pregnant women is 9,27%, a prevalence that is maintained in equal measures of results compared with other South American countries and publications at the regional, national and international levels, for this reason The proposed theoretical proposal is aimed at strengthening the prevention and promotion programs that are taught by the Ministry of Public Health, in order to raise awareness among pregnant women about the prevention of UTI by adopting a healthy lifestyle and thus reduce the rates of maternal and fetal morbidity and mortality due to complications associated with the pathology |
