The treatment of the older adult is usually quite complex, due to the multiple signs and symptoms that he/she presents, due to the normal deterioration already established for years. Thus, in the present case we will study an older adult with advanced age who presents an emotional shock, when learning of the medical diagnosis established by the professional, thus generating destructive consequences towards his own body. The objective of this study is to inform the treatment that was applied, in order to take it into account in other similar situations that may arise. Providing a scheme established between sessions applied and resolutions taken for optimal treatment, which led us to strong conclusions with the patient. Turning him from a person whose days were numbered, to a relatively functional person, both physically and emotionally. |
