Summary:Acute bronchitis constitutes a significant health complication due to its high mortality rate. Its general incidence of acute respiratory infections in developing countries is between 30 and 60% in children, and it is estimated that each child suffers from 4 to 6 times this pathology every year. In 2007 in our country it was the first cause of morbidity in children with acute respiratory diseases, occupying a rate of 14%. In 2009, the Ecuadorian pulmonology hospital registered 2% of patients with acute bronchitis. The pharmacological treatment has been of great help for this disease, as well as the respiratory therapy is playing a primordial adjuvant within the comprehensive treatment of acute bronchitis. At the end of this work, it will help in the correct management, diagnosis, treatment and intervention of respiratory therapy in this pathology and thus avoid complications.
