Impacto del turismo en el desarrollo socioeconómico de la ciudad de Montalvo, provincia de los Ríos

The present project called "impact of tourism on the socioeconomic development of the city of Montalvo" is based on the lack of studies to determine how tourism activities within the canton affect socio-economic development, triggered mainly by ignorance of the population on the social / economic benefits that this area originates and the prioritization of other productive activities (agricultural - commercial) that have always been the basis of the economy of the Montalvina population. The project exposes tourism as a great opportunity for local development, considering the main beneficiary population. When reviewing the tourist cadastre, identifying the socioeconomic development indicators and diagnosing the impacts of tourism, we will be able to recognize the extent of tourism in the socioeconomic development of the Canton For the development of research, a scientific methodology is used, different information collection techniques are applied that facilitate the collection of significant data, through surveys and interviews conducted with the economically active population linked to tourism activities. Finally, as the result of the research, it is evident that the impact of tourism on the socioeconomic development of Montalvo is low, and that currently this activity only benefits the private sector economically
