Summary:The clinical case had as objective to develop a nutritional care process in a 68-year-old male patient with arterial hypotension and chronic kidney disease which consisted in analyzing biochemical data of the patient as well as verifying the stage of chronic kidney disease of the patient and elaborating a food plan for the 68-year-old male patient with arterial hypotension and chronic kidney disease, for this purpose an exploratory type of methodology was used which allowed the respective theoretical analyses such as the types of low blood pressure, causes and symptoms of hypotension, stages, symptoms, risk factors of chronic kidney disease as well as practical ones such as the analyses based on an anthropometric, biochemical, clinical and dietary follow-up of the patient; stages, symptoms, risk factors of chronic kidney disease as well as practical analyses based on anthropometric, biochemical, clinical and dietary follow-up of the patient. In concrete terms, the patient adhered to the dietary plan in an effective way in which it was possible to reduce some biochemical data that were elevated and eliminate clinical signs such as deficiencies of protein, biotin, iron, vitamin A, zinc and essential fatty acids; it was also verified that the patient was in stage 5 of chronic kidney disease.
