要約:The genetic improvement programs in bovine dairy cattle allow to improve the dairy activity production, reproduction and profitability. In the Toacaso parish, producers manage livestock in a traditional way without using technology, which this research is based on the bovine selection, what have economic interest characteristics for milk production, according to the genetic improvement needs from parish, the same ones, which will improve profitability. With the program seeks to reach production higher levels, by means the desirable characters selection, artificial insemination and the information collection from bovines. The research was made with 15 producers in four neighborhoods from Toacaso parish, it was taken the 91 bovines’ data, 49 being lactating. They were made controls twice a week, where were taken information, regarding weighing, milk control, checks gynecological, insemination, deworming and victimization. It was determined, which the average milk sale price is $0.41, while the highest milk production cost is $0.93 and the lowest milk production cost is around $0.19. After assessing the animals were got a breeding value 78.44 gr/day for weight gain with a reliability 0.44, for milk production 830.27 liters with a reliability level 0.48. and in density 1.029 with a reliability 0.50, the same ones, which are sought to be transmitted to their descendants. Based on the data collected, are proposed, which are the aims to improve for the dairy production from parish , allowing to know the animals potential, the breeding value and the response to the selection. Allowing this way can determine the best animals for the parish and so that their genetics can be transmitted to the different generations.
