Tóm tắt:The analysis of composition of WPC (Wood - Plastic Composite) material composed by recycled wood and plastic is an unknown topic by most of the industries that work manufacturing wooden facades, floors and decorations. The WPC is composed by natural fibers that serve as an alternative reinforcement for polymeric compounds. It was determined based on a sample of market research at Cotopaxi province where a high percentage of recyclers supply: The polymer matrix and the reinforcing material, the most recycled polymer with 86.6 % is the high and low Polyethylene density with an average of 2.3 ton/month, the most discarded wood with 56.6 % is pine and eucalyptus with an average per company of 576.2 kg/month, in Cotopaxi Aglomerados there is a waste of 2 ton/day of pine and eucalyptus powder, the humidity determined was 6.38 %. The manufacturing process to work with this material is extrusion, the conditions that raw material must possess are: The recycled polymer must be homogenized, the wood dust must have less than 2 % humidity. The additive that was used as a coupling agent is maleic anhydride. The percentages used of HDPE and wood dust are (50-50, 60-40 and 50-40-10) % respectively, at third percentage the coupling agent was used. The temperature of the extruder was 175 and 185 oC in zones 1 and 2 respectively. it was obtained as result that higher dust percentage on composition higher must be elasticity modulus with the condition that polymer matrix should always moisten the reinforcing material. The compound with the highest tensile strength is 50-50-10 % with 11.5 MPa and elasticity modulus of 234 MPa according to ASTM D 638, the compound with the highest strength flexural is 50-50% with 15.08 MPa and elasticity modulus of 750.69 MPa according to ASTM D 1037, the swelling of the three compounds is 0% and water absorption is 0.31% according to ASTM D 1037.
