| סיכום: | The research was carried at El Sigsal area located 5 minutes away from the center of the city of Cayambe, Cayambe canton, province of Pichincha; the purpose of this project is to demonstrate, through a bromatological study, the nutritional properties of potato peel flour that will be supplied through nutritional blocks in three levels to improve the production of guinea pigs during fattening; this study included 24 21-day-old male cuyes with an average weight of 359.92 g, which were randomly distributed in 4 treatment groups with 6 repetitions each. The study variables such as: weight, weight gain, feed consumption and feed conversion registered significant statistical differences among those measured in the course of the treatments; the highest final weights were observed in treatments T2 (2% potato peel flour) with 947.83g and T3 (3% potato peel meal) with 991.83g. The values with the highest weight gain in the research were T1 (1% potato peel flour) and T3 (3% potato peel flour) with 572g and 710.83 g respectively. The food intakes with the best performance were T2 (2% potato peel flour) with 336.90g and T3 (3% potato peel flour) with a value of 342.52g. Feed conversion ratio revealed values for T2 (2% potato peel flour) and T3 (3% potato peel flour) of 4.21 and 4.06 respectively. According to the results, the use of nutritional blocks that include potato peel flour helps small, medium, and large producers of this species to meet nutritional requirements in an easy and economical way and to comply with essential physiological functions within a given time to obtain greater weight gains. This type of waste can be easily obtained, and its use can reduce environmental impact caused by accumulation of pests associated with the decomposition process. |
