Worldwide, hydatid disease is considered as a public health problem, considering camelids as a host intermediary in which cysts develop in the liver and lungs, they occasionally migrate into the muscles. For this reason, this research work was carried out in the Cotopilaló Cooperative belonging to the Latacunga Canton, having as objective to identify the incidence of hydatid disease in alpacas, for which 30 alpacas of the Huacaya breed (11 males, 19 females) the same ones that exceed 6 months old. The investigation was carried out in the period of 4 weeks where a record was raised data in which it consists; age, sex and earring number of the animals. Tests were carried out coproparasites to identify positivity to hydatid disease, using the Faust method technique that consists of placing 3 gr of feces in 33% zinc sulfate which will help us to identify eggs or larval fasces of Echinococcus Granulosus. The incidence of hydatid disease identified through the diagnostic method was zero %, that is, there was negativity when performing the coproparasitic tests, but the presence of Trichuris vulpis in 6.6% of the population.
