They were randomly divided into 4 treatments, with 18 dogs for T0, T1, T2, and T3, previous to bacterium-positive analysis in the buccal cavity through bacterial samples recollection with gingival swabs and experimental period lasted 21 days, spending one day once a day. The used treatments were: T0 (control) - with chlorhexidine applied by spray and gauze, T1 - Chamomile 20%, T2 - Aloe Vera, and T3 - Chamomile + Aloe Vera-based preparation. Sample was made taking again to 15th and 21st post-application day of the treatment to determine the Bacterial CFU. The obtained results in the project were for T0 effectiveness in Enterobacter cloacae (91%). For T1, efficiency in Streptococcus beta hemolyticus (75%) and Pseudomonas spp (96%). For T2 in Streptococcus spp (82%), Bacillus spp (95%) Staphylococus aureus (96%), and Escherichia coli (72%). Finally, for T3, the efficacy was in Staphylococcus coagulase negative (86%) and Neisseria spp (75%). This project provides a gradual treatment for canine gingivitis, whose beneficiaries are domestic canines with gingivitis and their owners who can make this protocol a regular use.
