الملخص:The floristic inventory was carried out at 2000 msnm corresponding the Forest Siempreverde Montano of the Western Cordillera of the Andes, in the La Esperanza sector, El Tingo parish, Pujilí canton, Province of Cotopaxi, with purpose to know the shrub species that are currently developing in place. This floristic inventory (shrub) evaluates the plant component, plant dominance and abundance of shrub species found in the forest. The obtained data constitutes a source of information at the same time as of allows to start to the first objective of the Bank of Germplasm, with the information the university community benefits for its research, the project will generate scientific research, in addition it can be observed the process of degradation of the forest caused by the advance of the agricultural frontier, change of land use, forest burning etc. A permanent plot of 150 x 50 m was installed, in which three subplots of 2500 m each were drawn, taking samples of shrub species found in the study area. We found 188 individuals corresponding to five species of shrubs belonging to four families. The taxa with the highest value index of importance are Casearía Sylvestris of the family Salicaceae with 30.4% and Faramea Occidentalis belonging to the Rubiaceae family with 29.04%, which also presented higher density, frequency and dominance. The studied forest has an estimated Shannon diversity index of 1.35 and Simpson of 0.71; which shows that it presents a low diversity index of shrub species. This is because it is an intervened forest. Key words: Inventory, species, biodiversity, conserve, germplasm
