Shrnutí:This analysis examines the connection between empathy and disruptive behaviors in elementary school students in the La Maná Canton during the 2024-2025 school year. Empathy is a crucial socio-emotional skill for coexistence in school, as it allows for understanding the emotions of others, promotes mutual respect, and facilitates peaceful conflict resolution. However, its lack can lead to the emergence of disruptive behaviors, such as disobedience, aggression, and disrespect, among those affected. To support this research, several theories are considered, such as Goleman's Theory of Emotional Intelligence, which highlights the importance of socioemotional development in regulating behavior; Bandura's Social Learning Theory, which underscores the importance of modeling and observation in developing social skills; and Kohlberg's Theory of Moral Development, which details the progression of moral judgment in individuals and its link to behavior. Suggested tactics for promoting empathy include implementing socio-emotional education programs, implementing active methods such as collaborative learning and collaborative work, and using school mediation techniques for peaceful conflict resolution. The study will also contribute to the development of suggestions for training teachers and educational staff in the use of empathy as a tool for classroom management. Thus, the goal is to bring about a transformation in the educational dynamic, in which emotional education is an essential element. The social and academic relevance of this research lies in the fact that it provides evidence of the effect of empathy on school interaction.
