The objective of the research was to design a training plan through workshops on the development of emotional intelligence to improve the academic performance of second-year high school students from the "Quintiliano Sánchez Rendón" Educational Unit. The methodology under which the research was developed was descriptive and analytical. For this, surveys were carried out on 18 teachers and 49 students, in addition to an interview with the director of the Educational Unit. Among its main results, it was possible to identify that although teachers know something about the importance of emotional intelligence, they are unaware of strategies or tools that can be used in class for conflict management, emotion control, among others. On the other hand, the students indicated that conflicts at home, low economic income, the number of members per family, affect school life, therefore, it is there where teachers must work on empathy and emotional management, being educational counselors. Therefore, it is concluded that, through the application of the emotional intelligence training plan, it helps students to be prepared to face the problems of everyday life. |
