Тойм:This study aims to analyze the impact of mindfulness as a psychopedagogical strategy to reduce academic stress in fifth-grade students at the Carlos Julio Arosemena Educational Unit in Ecuador. Mindfulness, defined as focused attention and non-judgmental acceptance of thoughts and emotions, has proven effective in international educational settings, though its integration into Ecuadorian schools remains limited. High levels of academic stress— manifested through demotivation, insecurity, and difficulty coping with school tasks— prompted the implementation of this innovative strategy. A mixed-methods approach was used, combining the Children’s Daily Stress Inventory (IECI) with direct classroom observation. The study seeks to measure stress levels before and after the intervention and assess the effectiveness of mindfulness in promoting students’ emotional well-being. The research highlights the importance of incorporating techniques that support emotional self-regulation, enhance academic performance, and contribute to students’ holistic development. Results are expected to inform the design of educational proposals that integrate mindfulness practices into the school curriculum.
