Resumo:This research aims to design a psychopedagogical strategy based on the development of socioemotional skills (SES), specifically focused on strengthening school coexistence through the teaching practice in basic education institutions in El Empalme, Guayas, Ecuador. The study follows a qualitative case study approach involving 20 teachers from a local school. Data collection was carried out through interviews, direct classroom observations, and documentary analysis. Findings reveal significant limitations in teacher training regarding socioemotional competencies, minimal use of active methodologies, and weak family-school articulation. These shortcomings negatively affect classroom emotional management and the overall school climate. In response, a pedagogical strategy is proposed to enhance the teacher's role as an emotional guide, integrating practical activities, reflective spaces, and didactic tools aimed at developing self-awareness, empathy, self-regulation, and social skills. The study concludes that equipping teachers with SES is essential to improving school coexistence, creating emotionally safe environments, and promoting students’ holistic well-being.
