| Sumario: | The cultivation of cocoa in Ecuador has been studied in a one-dimensional way, according to the economic perspectives that are related to productivity, however, despite the fact that agriculture must be focused in a productive way, it has caused a set of negative situations, the which have affected the development of sustainability, where emphasis can be placed on the demerit of ancestral knowledge. The main objective of this study is to know the sustainability of cocoa cultivation in the northern area of the Province of Los Ríos, and to identify the problems facing the cocoa sector today. Cocoa production in the province of Los Ríos is directly related to small and medium-sized farmers in the sector who commonly do not use adequate processes for these operations, thus demonstrating that agricultural techniques focused on sustainability, economic, social and environmental are not carried out. environmental. The methodology applied in this study had a quantitative approach with field and bibliographical research, and also used the deductive and inductive, analytical and descriptive method. |
