Evaluación del método de ninhidrina para seleccionar calidad de proteína en granos de maíz

Description: El presente estudio se llevó a efecto en la Estación Experimental "Santa Catalina" del IMIAP (Ecuador). La investigación fue realizada con el propósito de probar un método rápido que permita la identificación de genotipos con el gene opaco-2 en forma masiva, se evaluó el método de ninhidrina, para lo cual se empleó un material proveniente de un cruzamiento da maíz Cacahuazintle X Puebla O2 seleccionado mediante el método de ninhidrina en 1975 por (GII1MYT) , a temperatura ambiente, con determinaciones a los 30 minutos, encontrándose efectividad en el método para la - separación de granos 02 02 con fenotipo harinoso de -¿ f, “granos con fenotipo similar sin gene opaco-2.
This study was carried out in the IHIAP "Santa Catalina" Experimental Station (Ecuador). The investigation was performed with the purpose of testing a rapid method which would permit the identification of gene tvpes with the gene "opaque- 2” in massive form. The ’’ninhidrine" method was evaluated by using material obtained from the hybrid maize "Cacahuazintle X Puebla 02" selected according to the "ninhidrine" method in 1975 by CIMMYT, at room temperature, with determinations every 30 minutes. This method was found to be effective for separating 02 02 grains with a farinaceous fenotype from grains with a similar fenotype without the gene "opaque-2".
