Una de las principales causas de la degradación del suelo en la Sierra ecuatoriana es la aplicación de técnicas de preparación de tierras y labranza inadecuadas. Estas han llevado al deterioro de sus propiedades físicas, químicas y biológicas, limitando gravemente la producción agrícola y las posibilidades de aprovechamiento de la tierra. Con el fin de contribuir a la solución de este problema, se realiza. la presente investigación en la que se establecieron los siguientes objetivos: 1. Cuantificar el efecto de los sistemas de labranza convencional, mínima y cero sobre las características físicas del suelo. 2. Evaluar el comportamiento agronómico del maíz y el fr.jol voluble en asociación en los diferentes sistemas de labranza y fertilización edifica y foliar. 3. Determinar los beneficios económicos de las diferentes alternativas de labranza y fertilización química.
One of the main causes of the degradation of the soil in the ecuadorian highland is the usage of soil preparing techniques and inappropriate tillage systems. These have lead to the damage of its physical, chemical and biological properties, restricting seriously the agricultural production and the possibilities of getting profit from the land. With the purpose of contribute to the solution of this problem, this investigation was carried out, in which there was established the following objectives: 1. Quantify the effect of the traditional, minimum and no tillage on the physical characteristics of the soil. 2. Evaluate the agronomic behaviour of corn and bean in association under the different tillage systems and chemical fertilization. 3. Determine the economic benefits of the different alternatives of tillage and chemical fertilization.
