Estudio de la variabilidad fisiológica de la roya amarilla de la cebada (Puccinia striiformis f. sp. hordei) en 5 provincias de la Sierra e identificación de posibles fuentes de resistencia en germoplasma de cebada del INIAP

Description: La cebada (Hordeum vulgare) es uno de los cultivos de subsistencia de mayor importancia para las zonas altas de la sierra ecuatoriana. Uno de los factores limitantes en la producción de este cultivo es la roya amarilla causada por Puccinia stríiformis f. sp. hordei. Por esta razón, el INIAP - EESC, planteó en la presente investigación los siguientes objetivos: Caracterizar las razas de roya amarilla de cebada existentes en las provincias de Carchi, Imbabura, Pichincha, Cotopaxi, Tungurahua; Evaluar el grado de resistencia del germoplasma de cebada, al ataque de Puccinia stríiformis f. sp. hordei e Identificar fuentes de resistencia a Puccinia stríiformis f. sp. hordei en el germoplasma de cebada.
The barley (Hordeum vulgare) it is one of the cultivations of subsistence of more importance for the high areas of the Ecuadorian mountain. One of the restrictive factors in the production of this cultivation is the yellow rust caused by Puccinia striiformis f. sp. hordei. For this reason, the INIAP - EESC, outlined the present investigation, with the following objectives: To characterize the existent races of yellow rust of barley in the counties of Carchi, Imbabura, Pichincha, Cotopaxi, Tungurahua; To evalúate the resistance degree from the barley germplasm to the attack of Puccinia striiformis f. sp. hordei and To identify resistance sources to Puccinia striiformis f. sp. hordei in the barley germoplasma.
