En el cultivo de papa {Solamim tuberosum L.) en Ecuador, Rhizocíonia solani, es considerado uno de los patógenos más comunes y dañinos de los suelos paperos, cuyo efecto (cuantitativo y cualitativo) no ha sido debidamente considerado. Dada la versatilidad del hongo y la poca eficiencia o conveniencia del control químico, el antagonismo natural o supresión de suelos, constituye una componente dentro del manejo integrado de este patógeno, lo cual en el país ha sido poco estudiado y aún menos explotado. Los objetivos específicos de la presente investigación fueron: 1) Determinar la caracterización microbiana de suelos paperos del Ecuador; 2) Determinar la mínima concentración de inoculo de Rhizocíonia solani para producción de marchitez; 3) Determinar el efecto de la inoculación de Rhizocíonia solani y de la esterilización de suelos en la afectación de plántulas de papa var. INIAP-María; y 4) Cuantificar la supresión de treinta y seis suelos y tres sustratos a R. solani.
In the potato cultivation (Solarium tuberosum L.) in Ecuador, Rhizoctonia solani, is one of the most common and harmful pathogens in the potato soils is considered whose effect (quantitative and qualitative) it has not been properly considered. Given the versatility of the fungi and the little efficiency or convenience of the chemical control, the natural antagonism or suppression of soils, constitute a component inside the integrated handling of this pathogen, that which has been little studied in the country and even less exploited. The specific objectives of the present investigation were: 1) to determine the microbial characterization of potato soils in Ecuador; 2) to determine the minimum concentration of inoculum of Rhizoctonia solani for wither production; 3) to determine the effect of the inoculation of Rhizoctonia solani and of the sterilization of soils in the affectation of plant of potato var. INIAP-Maria; and 4) to quantify the suppression of thirty six soils and three substrates to R solani.
