Evaluación de la resistencia a la antracnosis y determinación de algunas razas fisiológicas de colletotrichum lindemuthianum presentes en ciertas zonas frijoleras de Costa Rica

Description: Se estudio la resistencia a las cuatro razas de Colletotrlchum lindemuthianum (Sacc. y Magn») Scrib„ alfa, beta, gama y delta en 4M-7 variedades de frijol, Phaseolus vulgards L., tomadas al azar de la colección del Programa de Cultivos Alimenticios del IICA Entre las variedades de frijol negro, 9 fueron altamente resistentes al patógeno; entre los bayos 5 fueron altamente resistentes; entre los blancos 3; entre los pintos 2 y entre los rojos 6 se mostraron igualmente resistentes. Cuando se sometieron a prueba 13 de las mejores variedades de frijol utilizadas por el Programa de Cultivos Alimenticios del IICA se determinó que todas las variedades mostraron resistencia a la raza alfa; la mayoría fueron resistentes a beta y gama, pero casi todas se mostraron susceptibles a la raza delta.
ABSTRAC Resistance to four races of C, lindemuthianum, alfa, beta, gamma and delta was studied in 447 bean varieties, P0 vulgaris L,, randomly obtained from the Basic Food Program's collection„ Among the black bean varieties, 9 were highly resistant; among the "bayos" 5 highly resistant varieties were found; 3 in the white seeded ones; 2 in the "pintos" and 6 among the reds. In screening to the four races of the fungus 13 of the best bean varieties selected by the Basic Food Crops Program of the IICA, it was found that all varieties showed resistance to race alfa; the majority were resistant to races beta and gamma, but none showed resistance to race delta.
