Thedepression and the anxietyare two of the affectivedisorders that have a great impact in the popuiation in general. Same as in the university population, are two of the main reasons to be consulted by the university welfare service. That's why, it's important to evalúate the degree of the anxiety and depression in the students in the Técnica University - Ambato. The current investigation is centered to identify the incidence of these affective disorders in the university students in the UTA, through the scores obtained in the eck's Depression inventory, the scale of depression of Hamiiton and the scaie of depression of Montgomery- Asberg in the case of depression and through the in ventory ofanxiety ofBeck and the scale ofanxiety ofHamiiton. This study is not >'''-.y experimental, it's a type of descriptive transversal. i 'SThe resuits obtained don't provide information about the predisposing, trigger o maintainers of the disorders investigated but it isan evidence of the presence inthe university students, and it registers a great deal of the same in the students in the feminine gender.
La depresión yla ansiedad pertenecen a lostrastornos mentales y dentro de estos son dos de lostrastornos afectivos de mayorincidencia en la población en general.Así mismo dentro de la población universitaria, constituyen dos de los principales motivos de consulta atendidos a través de ios servicios de bienestar universitario.Por esta razón es de gran importancia evaluar el grado de la ansiedad y depresión en los estudiantes de ia Universidad Técnica de Ambato.Lapresente investigación se centra en identificar ia incidencia de estos trastornos afectivos en los estudiantes universitarios de la UTA, mediante las puntuaciones obtenidas en el inventario de Depresión de Beck, escala de depresión de Hamiiton y escala de depresión de Montgomery - Asberg en ei caso de depresión y a través del inventario de ansiedad de Beck y de la escala de ansiedad de Hamiiton en ansiedad.Se trata de un estudio no experimental, transversal de tipo descriptivo. Losresultados obtenidos no proporcionan información sobre los predisponentes, desencadenantes o mantenedores de iostrastornos investigados pero sievidencian su presencia en ios estudiantes universitarios, y el mayor registro de los mismos enlos estudiantes de género femenino.
