FACTORES DE RIESGO ASOCIADOS A DESNUTRICIÓN EN ESCOLARES DE 5 A 11 AÑOS

Se trata de una investigación diagnóstica de corte transversal, en la que se buscó factores de riesgo asociados al problema nutri- cional, se identificó peso, talla, y las relaciones entre ellas a 617 niños. Se determinó desnutrición moderada en el sexo femenino, y desnutrición leve en el sexo masculino. En factores de riesgo, el bajo nivel de instrucción de los padres provoca IMC menor al normal. Cuando el ingreso económico es menor se detecta mayor desnutrición, el 66,5% tienen ingresos entre 200 y 500 dólares mensuales, niños que nacieron bajo asistencia médica desarrollaron un mejor peso y talla, el aporte de calorías y consumo de nu- trientes, es menor a lo recomendado por la OMS. Palabras clave: IMC, Desnutrición, Niñez y Adolescencia, Patate ABSTRACT: A cross-sectional diagnostic investigation was developed, in which risk factors associated with nutritional problems were studied through the analysis of weight, height, and their relationship of 617 children. Moderate and mild malnutrition were found in females and males respectively. Regarding risk factors, the low educational level of the parents causes a low BMI in comparison to a normal value. When the income is low, there is a strong evidence of malnutrition showing that 66.5% of the parents have an income between 200 and 500 dollars per month. Children born under medical care developed a better height and weight whereas calorie intake and nutrient intake is less than the values recommended by WHO.
