En la actualidad la globalización como proceso económico, social y cultural en expansión y en transformación, ha tenido un impacto en la salud, modificando los perfiles epidemiológicos, que determinan cambios en las políticas públicas y sistemas de salud donde la ciencia, la tecnología y la información están al alcance de muchos y son las profesiones del área de la salud y específicamente de enfermería que enfrentan la necesidad y el desafío de perfeccionar sus procesos de trabajo para garantizar cuidados innovadores y de calidad a los pacientes, el valor del cuidado de enfermería se concentra en el sentido de construcción de teorías y conocimientos, a través del desarrollo de nuevas competencias en enferme­ría basadas en el desarrollo de pensamiento crítico, de habilidades y destrezas, es decir, integrando los nuevos conocimientos a la práctica diaria, para alcanzar la naturaleza real de la disciplina y la materialización del cuidado, permitiendo romper paradigmas tradicionales, como el ejercicio profesional intramuro, técnico, invisible, fragmentario y centrado en la enfermedad, donde el profesional de enfermería es un gestor del cuidado, dando énfasis a la promoción de la salud y al bienestar de los seres humanos, antes que a la enfermedad y de esta manera responder a las necesidades y expectativas de la población.    Palabras clave: Enfermera; ambiente; salud global; cuidados de enfermería.  ABSTRACT  Currently, globalization as an economic, social and cultural process in expansion and transformation, has had an impact on health, modifying epidemiological and geographical profiles, which determine changes in public policies and people's health systems, where Science, technology and information are within the reach of many and it is the health professions and specifically nursing that face the need and the challenge of improving their work processes with a view to guaranteeing innovative and quality care to patients. patient. It is therefore that the value of nursing care is concentrated in the sense of construction of theories and knowledge through the development of new competencies in nursing based on the development of critical thinking, skills and abilities. Integrating new knowledge into daily practice to achieve the real nature of the discipline and the materialization of care, allowing breaking traditional paradigms, such as intramural, technical, invisible, fragmentary professional practice focused on the disease. Becoming a care manager, emphasizing the promotion of health and well-being of human beings, rather than disease and thus responding to the needs and expectations of the population.
