The treatment of digital evidence, a guide to its acquisition and/or collection

Description: The treatment of digital evidence becomes the foundation of forensic research. For this reason, in this article we analyze the best existing practices and its application to a digital investigation process in our country. This will be the basis that supports our proposal for the correct evidence treatment and its phases: identification, collection, acquisition, and preservation.
El tratamiento de la evidencia digital constituye un pilar fundamental en la investigación forense; razón por la cual, en el presente artículo se analizan los principales marcos de mejores prácticas existentes y su aplicación a un proceso de investigación digital en nuestro país, de manera que fundamente una propuesta para el debido tratamiento de evidencia, en sus fases de: identificación, recolección y/o recopilación, resguardo y traslado.
