The objective of this study is to identify and analyze the potential market, operational and competitive risks faced by the startups in times of crisis. Comprehensive management of risk in entrepreneurship, today, is a priority for entrepreneurs who have the need to achieve independence and economic stability. The research was of a non experimental descriptive type with a qualitative approach through the application of an interview structure of 24 questions addressed to 15 managers and / or business owners considered as undertakings in the city of Quito, without discriminating gender or type of business. The results obtained from the interview served as the basis for developing a risk matrix to generate valid recommendations on how to mitigate the risks that may arise when developing new startups in times of crisis.
El objetivo del presente estudio es identificar y analizar los riesgos potenciales de mercado, operacional y competitivo, que afrontan los emprendimientos en tiempos de crisis. La gestión integral del riesgo en emprendimientos, hoy por hoy, es una prioridad para los emprendedores que tienen la necesidad de lograr independencia y estabilidad económica. La investigación fue de tipo no experimental descriptivo con un enfoque cualitativo mediante la aplicación de una entrevista estructurada de 24 preguntas dirigida a 15 gerentes o propietarios de negocios considerados como emprendimientos en la ciudad de Quito, sin discriminar género ni tipo de negocio. Los resultados obtenidos a partir de la entrevista sirvieron de base para elaborar una matriz de riesgos con el que se hace recomendaciones válidas de cómo se pueden mitigar los riesgos que se pueden presentar al desarrollar emprendimientos en tiempo de crisis.
