Integration of archaeological heritage in the tourist offer of Jama and Pedernales

Description: The objective of this research was to evaluate and improve the integration of the archaeological heritage of Jama-Coaque culture in the tourist offer of Jama and Pedernales. We first conducted a situational diagnosis to evaluate the existing archaeological heritage, and also the magnitude of its integration in the tourist offer of both municipalities. Subsequently, we proposed a series of strategic lines for the creation of a new tourism product based on the archaeological heritage of Jama-Coaque culture, with a focus on tourism development benefitting both tourists and local communities
La investigación tuvo como objetivo evaluar y mejorar la integración del patrimonio arqueológico perteneciente a la cultura Jama-Coaque, por la oferta turística en los cantones Jama y Pedernales. Con este fin se realizó inicialmente un diagnóstico situacional analizando el patrimonio arqueológico presente y su nivel de integración a la oferta turística de los dos cantones. Sucesivamente se propuso una serie de líneas estratégicas para la creación de un producto turístico basado en el patrimonio arqueológico perteneciente a la cultura Jama-Coaque, enfocado en el desarrollo turístico para generar beneficios tanto para los turistas como para las comunidades locales.
