Cidade e natureza: conexoes e infraestructura verde. Dois bairros em Quito-Equador

The current research focus the study of the ecological potential that rises in consolidated cities by establishing ecological Infrastructure to compose the urban landscape. Thus, the reinterpretation of nature and its functions brings a new perspective of the relationship established between the natural environment and the built environment in multiple scales. The city is seen as part of nature and it creates a new urban concept that analyses the interactions formed between two environments. Is then defined the concept of Ecological Urbanism and is made an historical revision of facts and theories that contribute to its creation. As the comprehension of the urban happening establishes an approach through the multi-scale perspective of the parts that constitute it, are taken as analytical elements: the city, the district and finally the street. After this first approach, through the lenses of Ecological Urbanism, are studied the natural elements that interact with urban dynamics, where is developed the concept of Green Infrastructure. The new term has been analyzed and thought as city, district and street related them to the establishment of the Green Infrastructure Network in consolidated cities. After the concepts and criteria studied in theoretical substantiation, it becomes visible the need to transcribe them in a practical way. Therefore, the possibility arises to diagnose the environmental situation of two neighborhoods located in Quito, Ecuador, for the purpose to evaluate their environmental performance and define whether the studied areas contribute to the consolidation of the City?s Green Infrastructure.
La presente investigaci?n tiene como foco el estudio de las potencialidades ecol?gicas que pueden surgir en las ciudades consolidadas a trav?s de la instauraci?n de la infraestructura Verde que compone el paisaje urbano. As?, a partir de la relectura de la naturaleza y sus funciones surge una nueva mirada sobre la relaci?n establecida entre ambiente natural y ambiente construido en sus m?ltiples escalas. La ciudad es entendida como parte de la naturaleza y se crea un nuevo concepto urban?stico que estudia las interacciones establecidas entre los dos ambientes. Es definido entonces, el concepto de Urbanismo Ecol?gico y es hecha una revisi?n hist?rica de los acontecimientos y teor?as que contribuyeron en su creaci?n. Dado que la comprensi?n del fen?meno de lo urbano establece el posicionamiento bajo una mirada multi-escalar de las partes que lo conforman, son tomados como elementos de an?lisis: la ciudad, el barrio y finalmente la calle. As?, despu?s de este primer abordaje, se estudian a trav?s de los lentes del urbanismos ecol?gico los elementos naturales que interact?an con las din?micas urbanas, surgiendo aqu? el concepto de infraestructura verde. Es estudiado entonces ese nuevo t?rmino y es pensado como ciudad, barrio y calles se relacionan con la constituci?n de la red de la infraestructura verde de las ciudades consolidadas. Despu?s de los conceptos y criterios estudiados en la fundamentaci?n te?rica, se torna visible la necesidad de diagnosticar la situaci?n ambiental de dos barrios localizados en la ciudad de Quito, Ecuador. Esto, con el prop?sito de evaluar su desempe?o ecol?gico y determinar si las ?reas estudiadas contribuyen en la consolidaci?n de la infraestructura Verde de la ciudad.
