Description

In this work we analyze a relationship between social variables and the Ecuadorian Detainees Data in order to build an Index of Social Vulnerability to Crime. The sample of this study is composed by, in one hand, not detained people according to the Social Register, not detained people according to the 2010 Population Census and, in the other hand, detained people that were charged with the country?s representative causes. The results of the analysis manifest significant differences between social characteristics of detained delinquents and not detained people, more accurately, concerning to variables such as family, work and recidivism. Also, we show how indicators from Index of Social Vulnerability don?t seem to correspond to indicators from Index of Social Vulnerability to Crime.
