Description

This project is focused on analyzing the different standards of digital television worldwide and determine the issues in the transition from analog to digital signal in Ecuador, this includes the analysis and evaluation of new services in the near future. The adopted standard in Ecuador is the Japanese one with modifications made in Brazil (ISDBTb) which implements a middleware called Ginga that performs new services oriented to many sectors including private and public. At deployment we have to consider the geography in essential the orography of the country, taking as a tool to simulate the coverage of the antennas, the free software called RadioMobile, which allows to determine the shadows and power levels in the main cities of the country. Another interesting approach is the study of the incorporated middleware (Ginga) that is focused in the design, configuration, security and generation of transport streams giving an idea of the future services which could be implemented in the digital television. The project also covers the structures in the transmission and reception of the standard, and a possibility to use antennas in order to improve the reception signal covering all the frequency range of the digital television spectrum.
