Estado y mercado de la carne vacuna: un análisis comparado entre Argentina y Brasil, 1960-2015 (Debates)

Description: On the basis of documentary findings and secondary sources, the present article conducts a comparative historical analysis of the participation of the state and other market agents. It presents their impacts on beef production, marketing, and consumption in Argentina in 1976-2015 and in Brazil in 1964-2014, in other words, the dynamics of agribusiness in both countries. The results show that, in both cases, the state was the principal player responsible for the diverging economic developments in these markets.
A través de hallazgos documentales y fuentes secundarias, este artículo desarrolla un análisis histórico comparativo de la participación del Estado y demás agentes del mercado. Se presentan las influencias en la producción, comercialización y consumo de carne vacuna entre 1976-2015 en Argentina y 1964-2014 en Brasil; es decir, las dinámicas del agronegocio en ambos países. Los resultados muestran que, en ambos casos, el Estado fue el principal responsable de la trayectoria económica divergente de estos mercados.
