Relacion entre el CPOD comunitario y la autopercepcion de caries en escolares de 12 años en la parroquia Monay, 2016

OBJETIVO: Determinar la relación entre el índice comunitario CPOD y la auto percepción de caries en escolares de 12 años de edad en la parroquia Monay, 2016. MATERIALES Y MÉTODOS: Fue de tipo descriptiva, documental y retrospectiva. Se evaluaron a 252 escolares (128 hombres y 124 mujeres) de 12 años de edad de escuelas fiscales y particulares, pertenecientes a la parroquia Monay del Cantón Cuenca, 2016. Los datos fueron de tipo cuantitativo y cualitativo pero no se realizó ningún estadígrafo específico debido a la ausencia de ciertos valores relacionados al impacto de la caries dental. RESULTADOS: La prevalencia de caries fue de 56,35% para ambos sexos, el índice comunitario CPOD se estableció en “Muy Bajo” (0,10), en relación a la autopercepción del impacto de la caries dental, el 42,85% afirmó el mismo, el desempeño más afectado fue al sonreír (20,23%). CONCLUSIÓN: Se concluye que si existe relación entre el índice comunitario del CPOD y la autopercepción de caries aunque estas son muy bajas, sin existir diferencias entre el género y la gestión académica de las escuelas.
AIM: To determine the connection between the community index CLOT with the self report of cavities in school boys with 12 years old in the parish of Monay, 2016. METHS AND MATERIALS: Was descriptive, documental and retrospective. 252 students were evaluated (128 boys and 124 girls) of 12 years old from public and private schools, they belong to the parish of Monay from the city of Cuenca, 2016. The collected data where quantitative and qualitative type and they where connected from dynamic forms without be able to do any type of relational analysis because of the absence of relacionated values with the dental cavities impact. RESULTS: The results was 56,35% for both genders, the comunity index CLOT established in “Very Low” (0,10), regarding to the self report from dental cavities impact, 42,85% confirm the same, the more affected development was smiling (20,23%). COCLUSION: This study verified that it does exist a connection between the community index CLOT and the self report of cavities, without differences between the gender or academic management.
