Antecedentes: La aplicación del modelo Sol Naciente, es eficiente para establecer\ncuidados transculturales enfocados al bienestar del paciente, teniendo en\nconsideración su cultura, donde el paciente va a sentir que los elementos de su\ncultura son respetados.\nObjetivo: Aplicar el modelo de Madeleine Leininger a los adultos mayores de la\nparroquia Sidcay, cantón Cuenca periodo septiembre 2017-febrero 2018.\nMateriales y Método: Estudio Básico cuantitativo tipo exploratorio. El universo está\nconstituido por los adultos mayores de 65 a 85 años de edad. La muestra\nprobabilística consecutiva constituida por 226 personas. La técnica aplicada fue la\nencuesta, el instrumento fue un formulario de recolección de datos previamente\nvalidado, durante la investigación se garantizaron los procesos bioéticos, la\ninformación fue analizada en el programa SPSS 24.00 (versión evaluación).\nResultados: Los datos demuestran que el modelo sol naciente es aplicable en este\nsector y a los de la tercera edad ya que su cultura es innata, el 99.6% residen en el\nsector rural, el 51.8% se dedica a la agricultura, el 69.5% viste tradicionalmente y\nel 59.7% sienten discriminación en servicios de salud, el 99.6% son Católicos, el\n78.8% consume agua de yerbas para mantenerse sanos, el 44.2% se curan de\nenfermedades con medicina ancestral. El 96.5% dice que utiliza medicina ancestral.\nConclusión: Se observó que la mayoría de los factores sociales y culturales están\narraigados a la población y la teorización de Madeleine Leininger es apropiada para\nllevarse a cabo en la comunidad.
Background: The application of the Sol Naciente model is efficient to establish\ncross-cultural care focused on the well-being of the patient, taking into consideration\ntheir culture, where the patient will feel that the elements of their culture are\nrespected.\nObjective: Apply the model of Madeleine Leininger to the elderly of the Sidcay\nparish, Cuenca canton September September 2017-February 2018.\nMaterials and Methods: Basic exploratory quantitative study. The universe is\nconstituted by adults over 65 to 85 years of age. The consecutive probabilistic\nsample constituted by 226 people. The applied technique was the survey, the\ninstrument was a previously validated data collection form, during the investigation\nthe bioethical processes were guaranteed, the information was analyzed in the\nSPSS 24.00 program (evaluation version).\nResults: The data show that the rising sun model is applicable in this sector and to\nthe elderly because their culture is innate, 99.6% reside in the rural sector, 51.8%\nare engaged in agriculture, 69.5% wear traditionally and 59.7% feel discrimination\nin health services, 99.6% are Catholics, 78.8% consume water from herbs to stay\nhealthy, 44.2% are cured of diseases with ancestral medicine. 96.5% say that they\nuse ancestral medicine.\nConclusion: It was observed that most of the social and cultural factors are rooted\nin the population and the theorization of Madeleine Leininger is appropriate to be\ncarried out in the community.
