El cantón El Carmen posee biodiversidad en fauna y flora; paisajes, gastronomía, cultura y costumbres pero carece de un desarrollo turístico, por ello, es menester contar con un modelo de gestión administrativa que promueva dicha actividad, para mejorar la calidad de vida de los habitantes, incrementar la economía local, y obtener el reconocimiento turístico a grandes escalas. El presente trabajo investigativo tiene como objetivo impulsar el turismo y sus múltiples atractivos turísticos dentro de la circunscripción, de manera sostenible y sustentable, por medio de planes y proyectos, para brindar servicios de calidad y calidez que satisfagan las exigencias de los turistas nacionales o extranjeros, y beneficien a la población oriunda del cantón. La metodología empleada para el diagnóstico fue la observación de los potenciales lugares y atractivos turísticos, además de la aplicación de encuestas a la ciudadanía y funcionarios del Gobierno Autónomo Descentralizado Municipal El Carmen, para recabar información vital, la misma permitió palpar las necesidades del lugar en el ámbito turístico.
The county El Carmen has biodiversity in fauna and flora; landscapes, gastronomic, culture and customs but it lacks a tourist development, therefore, it is necessary to have a model of administrative management that promotes this activity, to improve the quality of life of the inhabitants, increase the local economy, and obtain recognition large-scale tourism. The present investigative work aims to promote tourism and its multiple tourist attractions within the district, for the long term in a sustainable way, through plans and projects, to provide services of quality and warmth that meet the demands of domestic or foreign tourists, and benefit the population coming of the county. The methodology used for the diagnosis was the observation of potential places and tourist attractions, in addition to the application of surveys to the public and officials of the Autonomous Decentralized Municipal Government El Carmen, to gather vital information, it allowed to feel the needs of the place in the tourist area.
