El proyecto tuvo como objetivo principal poder determinar el perfil antropométrico y somatotipo en la selección de futbol sub-16 de la Unidad Educativa Salesiana Cristóbal Colón de la ciudad de Guayaquil durante el período comprendido entre Octubre del 2018 y Febrero del 2019, se tomó como referencia los parámetros de la Sociedad Internacional para el Avance de la Cine antropometría y el método matemático de Heath-Carter para la obtención del somatotipo poblacional. Se realizó un estudio de tipo observacional descriptivo, donde se tomó una población de 36 deportistas de un rango de edades de 14 a 16 años, donde se obtuvo variables antropométricas y somatotipo. Se procedió a realizar una comparación con un estudio de deportistas chilenos de cinco equipos diferentes en la misma categoría y con una población muy similar. Se realizó el análisis de los resultados obtenidos, donde se buscaba saber si los deportistas se encontraban en el somatotipo ideal, el cual sería ser mesomorfo balanceado, se detectó una similitud en tres somatotipos los cuales eran mesomorfo balanceado,ectomorfo balanceado y meso-ectomorfo, estos resultados nos indican que los deportistas se encuentran próximo al somatotipo ideal, sin embargo para alcanzarlo deben de tener un cuidado y seguimiento más estricto en su alimentación.
The main objective of the project was to determine the anthropometric profile and somatotype in the sub 16 soccer team of The Cristobal Colon School of the city of Guayaquil from October 2018 to February 2019. The parameters were taken as reference of the international society for the advance cement of cineantropometry and the mathematical method of Heath - Carter to obtain the population’s somatotype. A descriptive observational study was conducted; where a population of 36 athletes from a range of ages of 14 to 16 Years old was analyze to obtain the body composition and the somatotype. The Cristobal Colon´s students were compared with Chilean athletes from six different teams in the same category and a similar population, then it proceeded to make a comparison between the athletes form six different teams of Chile in the same category and similar population. The analysis showed that there are similarities between three somatotypes which were balanced mesomorph, balanced ectomorph and meso ectomorph. These results indicate that the athletes of Cristobal Colon are slightly close to the ideal somatotype, however to reach it they must have a more strict care and monitoring of their diet.
