La toma de temperatura es una actividad poco practicada por anestesiólogos, esto pese a que la presencia de hipotermia ha sido relacionada con una serie de complicaciones. En el hospital “Luis Vernaza” se realizan miles de cirugías y no se había establecido cuales con las repercusiones que tuvo la presencia de esta alteración, y cuál fue su frecuencia.Objetivo:Establecer la repercusión de la hipotermia no intencional inducida por la anestesia general en el resultado perioperatorio de pacientes atendidos el hospital “Luis Vernaza” en el periodo 2009-2010. Metodología:Se realizó un estudio observacional caso control en el que se incluyeron de forma no probabilística 9 pacientes que desarrollaron hipotermia y 34 pacientes que no lo hicieron, para posteriormente con los resultados perioperatorios.
