Este trabajo de investigación se ha enfocado en cómo debe operar el derecho a la libertad de expresión y cuáles deben ser sus límites, ya que en el desarrollo de este derecho se podrían afectar otros derechos igual de fundamentales para los ciudadanos ecuatorianos; razón por la que hoy en día esto podría darse con mayor frecuencia con el surgimiento de las nuevas tecnologías de la comunicación y las redes sociales, estas últimas en especial hacen que este derecho sea ejercido en forma más amplia por la mayoría de la comunidad ecuatoriana, sin excluir la mundial, que antes de su aparición para muchos les era imposible ejercer este derecho en la forma que hoy lo practican, por esto hemos destinado un espacio para exponer este tema, también cuándo y en qué circunstancias podríamos apelar a las limitaciones a este derecho, y en el caso de que la sociedad considere necesario desarrollar otras limitaciones, cuáles deben ser las circunstancias y requisitos.
This research work has focused on how the right to freedom of expression should operate and what its limits should be, since in the development of this right other equally fundamental rights for Ecuadorian citizens could be affected; reason why today this could occur more frequently with the emergence of new communication technologies and social networks, the latter in particular make this right more widely exercised by the majority of the Ecuadorian community, without excluding the world one, which before its appearance for many it was impossible for them to exercise this right in the way they practice it today, for this reason we have allocated a space to expose this topic, also when and in what circumstances we could appeal to the limitations to this law, and in the event that society considers it necessary to develop other limitations, what should be the circumstances and requirements.
