Encuesta del nivel de conocimiento sobre el Virus del Papiloma en la cavidad bucal en pacientes de la Clínica de la Universidad Católica Santiago de Guayaquil.

Introducción: La infección por el virus del papiloma humano (VPH) se considera la infección de transmisión sexual (ITS) más común. Aproximadamente 6 millones de personas son diagnosticadas cada año y aproximadamente entre el 9% y el 13% de la población mundial ya está infectada con la enfermedad. Objetivo: Evaluar el nivel de conocimiento sobre el Virus del Papiloma en la Cavidad Bucal en Pacientes de la Clínica Universidad Católica Santiago de Guayaquil. Materiales y métodos: El presente estudio investigativo es una Encuesta, con un enfoque cuantitativo de tipo prospectivo transversal, de diseño descriptivo experimental. En el cual se incluyó 60 pacientes atendidos en las diferentes clínicas prácticas de la Universidad Católica Santiago de Guayaquil y aceptaron por escrito su inclusión en el presente trabajo de investigación. Resultados: El estudio evidencio que el 40% de los pacientes tiene un nivel Medio de conocimiento sobre las manifestaciones orales relacionadas por el virus del papiloma; el 18,33% de los pacientes tiene un nivel Alto el 25% de los pacientes tiene un nivel bajo y el 16,67% no tiene ningún conocimiento. Conclusión: Se concluyo que los pacientes que acudieron a las consultas en la clínica odontológica tienen un nivel de conocimiento medio sobre el virus del papiloma en la cavidad bucal.
Introduction: Introduction: Human papillomavirus (HPV) infection is considered the most common sexually transmitted infection (STI). Approximately 6 million people are diagnosed each year and approximately 9% to 13% of the world's population is already infected with the disease. Objective: To evaluate the level of knowledge about the Papilloma Virus in the Oral Cavity in Patients of the Santiago de Guayaquil Catholic University Clinic. Materials and methods: The present investigative study is a survey, with a quantitative approach of a cross-sectional prospective type, with an experimental descriptive design. In which 60 patients attended in the different clinical practices of the Universidad Católica Santiago de Guayaquil were included and they accepted in writing their inclusion in this research work. Results: The study showed that 40% of the patients have a medium level of knowledge about the oral manifestations related to the papillomavirus; 18.33% of patients have a high level, 25% of patients have a low level and 16.67% have no knowledge. Conclusion: It is concluded that the patients who attended consultations at the dental clinic have a medium level of knowledge about the papilloma virus in the oral cavity.
